What Tabikin Stores

• Purchase details such as store name, date, item list, totals, tax rate, notes, and refund status.
• Receipt photos and QR code photos.
• Decoded QR values when a QR code is successfully read.
• Trip settings such as departure date, airport, and checklist progress.
• OCR scan text, corrected receipt text, and optional translation text.

Where Your Data Lives

During the current beta, Tabikin stores app data locally in browser/device storage. That means your records stay on YOUR device and browser where you entered them.

If local browser storage is cleared, app data can be lost. That is why the app includes export and restore tools.

Backup Files

If you export a backup, the file may include purchases, receipt photos, QR photos, checklist data, and settings. Anyone who gets that file may be able to see its contents.

Please store backup files somewhere you trust and avoid sharing them publicly.

OCR and Translation

Tabikin includes experimental OCR and translation assistance. Depending on the version and device, those features may require internet access or may rely on browser-supported tools or third-party services.

Receipt OCR can be inaccurate, especially with Japanese receipts, glare, curved paper, poor focus, or unusual layouts. Always review suggested values manually.

No Account Required

The current beta does not ask for a login, email address, passport number, or payment card information. Please avoid putting sensitive personal information into notes unless you are comfortable storing it locally on your own device and backups.

Children’s Privacy

Tabikin is intended for travelers managing their own shopping and refund tracking. It is not designed for children under 13.
